Hugh Moffatt to perform Songs From The Back Of The Church

Local singer/songwriter Hugh Moffatt will perform a benefit concert on Sunday evening, November 14, 2004, at Pullman Presbyterian Church located at 1630 NE Stadium Way, one block west of Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, WA.

The one-hour performance will consist of a series of songs written and collected by Moffatt that express views of God and Christianity belonging to characters on the fringes of Christian society.

Moffatt spent twenty-five years as a professional songwriter in Nashville before moving with his family to the Palouse in 1999. Among the many artists who have recorded his songs are Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Alabama, Merle Haggard, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Kathy Mattea.

He has recorded seven albums of his own and toured extensively around the world.

Hugh Moffatt is also the librettist for three operas written with composer Michael Ching. The most recent is Corps of Discovery, A Musical Journey, which will be produced by the University of Idaho in the fall of 2005.

Songs From The Back Of The Church will start at 7PM. Admission is $10/$5 for students.
